BAE Systems' design bid, based on the Type 26 Global Combat Ship, has been shortlisted for the SEA 5000 Australian Future Frigate programme. The contract would be to provide the design for nine Future Frigates for the Australian Navy to be built in Adelaide with construction beginning in 2020.
