Alex COUNTS will talk about the origins, growth and future of the microfinance movement, and how it provides a platform for rapidly disseminating other social innovations. Key success factors for microfinance and related strategies will be distilled and related to approaches to dealing with some of the major issues facing the world today, including economic inclusion, population pressures, the digital divide and climate change. The core theme will be organizing and mobilizing the world's poor to be a potent force for addressing poverty and all the other societal problems that emanate from it.
